A pocket book (140 x 215mm) that puts a structured and ordered framework on common skin disorders in 22 easily digestible chapters. The book starts with dermatological definitions and then each chapter focuses on common dermatological problems.

Each subject in each chapter starts with a definition of the problem. In list form with subtitles, each problem is then split in to symptoms, signs, distribution, special features, variants, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment. Common problems are covered with greater detail. No good dermatology text goes with out pictures and this book has in excess of 200 excellent images. Although small pictures, they are high quality with additional explanatory text. The pictures are grouped at the end of each chapter so the reader needs to flick from text to picture.

The clarity, order and simplicity of the book are to be commended. As a quick reference in the pocket or in the practice library it would serve well. It is ideally pitched for the undergraduate to get a broad grasp of dermatology or for use in general practice.
